Michelle Tomei, CRC®

Certified Retirement Counselor® and Financial Advisor

Throughout her career, Michelle Tomei has worked with numerous clients to help manage their relationship with money. She believes financial planning is more than helping clients accumulate assets: Investors today need help managing their fears and vulnerability in unsettling markets. As an adviser, she has a great responsibility to her clients. Michelle’s goal is to help her clients become the navigator of their plan, making decisions based on goals and acting accordingly. The biggest benefit her clients receive is knowing that she is available to help them no matter what the situation.

Mrs. Tomei has been working in the financial industry for nearly 22 years and joined M3 investment services in 2013. After careful consideration, Michelle decided transitioning her business to M3 would be best for her clients and her career. Working with M3 allows her to maintain the personal relationships she has with her clients while offering the support, guidance, and experience of a large firm. M3 also allows Michelle to have the flexibility she needs while raising a family. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Michigan State University, is a Certified Retirement Counselor®, and a member of FSI.

Michelle was named a Semifinalist for the NTSA 2019 Elite Advisor Award. In the words of the NTSA, the "Elite Advisor Award recognizes the contributions of advisors who have advanced best practice standards in the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry, and in so doing, have improved the ability of American workers to build a successful retirement."

Outside of the office, Michelle spends her time with her spouse, Eric, and two young children, Adrianna and Nicholas. During the spring and summer, she can be found outside gardening or bike riding with her kids. Michelle is the Chair of the South Lyon Educational Foundation and enjoys volunteering her time, supporting non-profit organizations.

The NTSA Elite Advisor Award is an annual member recognition program that has been established to honor advisors who have helped shape best practices in serving clients in the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry, as well as to acknowledge their specific accomplishments and/or contributions. The NTSA Elite Advisor Award recognizes the very best advisor members of NTSA who have done the most to help individual plan participants accumulate assets for retirement. The focus is on advisor best practices for advocacy, leadership, practice management and legacy within the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry, directly impacting the ability for Americans to build a successful retirement, especially through retirement plans. In addition, the NTSA Elite Advisor Award proclaims to the industry, to the federal, state and local legislatures, and to the public that the NTSA and its advisors — as trained, experienced professionals — are critical to helping Americans in the non-profit sector achieve individual retirement security.

Awards are not indicative of future performance. Working with an award winner is no guarantee of future financial success. Individuals should conduct their own evaluation.
