Michael J. Pesendorfer is one of the founders of M3 Investment Services in Royal Oak, Michigan, a firm that provides quality, sophisticated financial planning and advice for all investors, regardless of their stage in life. Michael’s belief that all people deserve access to unbiased, clear financial advice was the idea behind forming the company in 1996. Twenty-five years later, Michael’s leadership and approach has grown the firm to over 15 advisors and $500 million in assets under management.
Never one to follow the pack, Michael sought to improve on the traditional approach to financial services. Rather than only serving individuals who have a substantial amount to invest, he focused on how he could provide personal interactions and quality options for everyday workers. Instead of focusing on sales, he focused on helping and educating people. His vision of focusing on people – their families, their dreams, their aspirations – has helped him create strong lasting relationships with his clients. By truly knowing his clients, he is best able to provide them with the personalized financial planning and advice they need. As a boutique firm, M3 Investment Services gives clients the attention they deserve. You will always be greeted with a real person answering the phone. Clients have a dependable resource to guide them throughout their entire financial life – from beginning to save for their financial goals to living off of their retirement savings.
Michael believes in educating clients on the basics of financial products so they can have greater insight into their planning process. He sees their job as a combination of giving clarity into the planning process while guiding and encouraging the client along the way.
All the M3 Investment Services advisors take an active role in the betterment of their community. They frequently host community picnics, blood drives, fundraisers, and complimentary speaker events. Michael serves on the board of the Greater Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, has been a member of the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) since 2002, and is a long-time partner of the Metropolitan Detroit Bureau of School Studies.
He was a 2017 NTSA Elite Advisor Semi-Finalist, received the 2015 Fred Neuburger Memorial Award, the 2015 Steve Hitchcock Service Award, and proudly holds a place on the Clintondale Community Schools Wall of Honor.
The NTSA Elite Advisor Award is an annual member recognition program that has been established to honor advisors who have helped shape best practices in serving clients in the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry, as well as to acknowledge their specific accomplishments and/or contributions. The NTSA Elite Advisor Award recognizes the very best advisor members of NTSA who have done the most to help individual plan participants accumulate assets for retirement. The focus is on advisor best practices for advocacy, leadership, practice management and legacy within the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry, directly impacting the ability for Americans to build a successful retirement, especially through retirement plans. In addition, the NTSA Elite Advisor Award proclaims to the industry, to the federal, state and local legislatures, and to the public that the NTSA and its advisors — as trained, experienced professionals — are critical to helping Americans in the non-profit sector achieve individual retirement security.
Awards are not indicative of future performance. Working with an award winner is no guarantee of future financial success. Individuals should conduct their own evaluation.
