Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This October, you’ll once again be seeing pink across the country—on lapels, products, landmarks, and even football fields. Pink has become more than just a color; it’s a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight against breast cancer and the hope that unites us all.

In recent years, breast cancer has become the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide, surpassing lung cancer in 2020. In the United States alone, hundreds of thousands of women are diagnosed every year. Yet there is hope: from 1989 to 2018, the breast cancer death rate dropped by 41%, thanks to early detection, mammography screening, and advances in treatment. Today, we celebrate the more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.—women who remind us every day of the power of resilience and progress.

Still, the fight is not over. While research has advanced, the exact causes of breast cancer remain unknown, making early detection the cornerstone of saving lives. When found early, and when proper diagnosis and treatment are available, breast cancer can often be cured. Late detection, however, greatly limits treatment options. That’s why awareness, screening, and support remain so critical.

This year, we’re proud to once again support the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink campaign. Our founder, Michael Pesendorfer, returns as an ambassador, joining many other leaders across the country in raising awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society fund lifesaving research, provide patient support, and promote early detection programs.

For Michael, this mission is deeply personal. “I lost my mother in 1996 after a 2½ year battle with cancer. She was only 59 years old. I want to contribute to the cause and be part of the solution.”

Together, we can make a difference. By raising awareness, supporting research, and standing with patients and survivors, we move closer to a future where no family loses a loved one to breast cancer.
